Infraserv Höchst at the Expo Real: 3-D views of site advantages – customized infrastructure

Major infrastructure projects, optimized supply concepts, interesting new buildings and innovative service concepts – visitors can again look forward to discovering many new things at Infraserv Höchst’s stand (hall C 1, stand C1.131) at the Expo Real trade fair in Munich from October 4 to 6. The site operator of the 4.6-square-kilometer industrial park in the western part of Frankfurt numbers among the most innovative exhibitors of the trade fair, which has become one of the most important meeting places of the international real estate sector in recent years.

Innovation is one of the mainstays of the service provider Infraserv Höchst. The numerous industrial services the company offers have created ideal framework conditions for research and development in the Höchst Industrial Park. Power supply, wastewater disposal, building operation, logistics services, technical services, operation of pilot plants – the range of services offered by Infraserv Höchst is extensive. Other companies based at the site cover further areas that are relevant to the approx. 80 companies located in the Höchst Industrial Park, from a provider of translation services, through an analysis service provider right up to a patent lawyer.

Bird’s-eye view gives fascinating insight

A crowd-puller at the Infraserv stand: visitors will be able to go on a virtual bird’s-eye tour of the Industrial Park. A 3-D animation is set to provide a fascinating overview of the site and give visitors a real feel of the size of Hoechst’s former parent plant with its 800 buildings and 120 production facilities. And it will be possible to view space to let: interested companies can choose from 89 fully developed hectares that feature all infrastructure facilities that research and production companies need. Potential tenants can “fly over” a suitable plot and in so doing also have a look at neighboring buildings.

Major projects: ship on stilts and trimodal port

The animation already shows one of the latest buildings in the Industrial Park: the “ship on stilts”. This nickname was given to the office building at the eastern periphery of the Industrial Park because it both bears close resemblance to a ship and rests on 63 concrete piles. B 852, as the building is officially called, is a special combination of architectural sophistication coupled with economic efficiency.

Infraserv Höchst invests in office and laboratory buildings, but also and above all in the site infrastructure. The existing port facilities were extended to the tune of EUR 12.5 million. Now the trimodal port constitutes an ideal intersection of rail, road and waterway transportation systems. In future, up to 1.2 million tonnes of goods will be able to reach or leave the Industrial Park, predominantly by rail, which will also lead to a both economically and environmentally beneficial reduction of heavy-goods traffic. The trimodal port can be used by all interested parties within and outside of the Industrial Park and guarantees quick, cost-effective and efficient alternatives to truck transport.

Glass blower personifies site advantages

A highlight at the Infraserv stand: Mike Lasser, a producer of glass apparatus by trade, will be providing an insight into his by now rare skill. A glass blower at a real estate fair? The link is not exactly obvious. But Mike Lasser is actually an excellent example of the advantages the site offers. The 27-year-old glass blower produces very special and highly complex glass apparatus that is predominantly needed by pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies for R&D purposes. The companies he serves often cannot provide any technical drawings to work from, but rather present him with no more than an idea or a problem. Thanks to his experience with this special form of precision glass work for chemical and pharmaceutical customers, he and his colleagues produce apparatus for companies in the Industrial Park on a daily basis. As there are only very few glass blowers left in Germany offering these special skills, the little glass workshop in the Industrial Park constitutes a real advantage for the companies on site.
