Optimum environment for optimum service

Something new has taking shape in the north part of the Industriepark Höchst: a commercial-vehicle service center with a workshop for trucks, tank cars and tank containers as well as a cleaning facility and a permanent-way workshop. Infraserv Höchst has been sinking some five million euros in the project, which creates an ideal service environment for its Transport and Vehicle Services business unit. The service center offers repair and cleaning services even more efficiently and conveniently.

15,000 m² for the workshop

Being close to the Northern Marshalling Yard, the commercial-vehicle center provides optimum access to the rail and road network. The railway workshop will have three through-tracks, each with two repair stations for 4-axled tank cars. The central area is where ISO tank containers and freight containers are repaired and inspected. It is also an ideal location for repairing buckets - such as those used by the Infraserv Waste-Disposal Center.

The mechanics at the truck workshop maintains and repairs tractors, all kinds of trailers and semi-trailers, fire engines, truck cranes and special vehicles. For their work, the commercial-vehicle service center has six repair stations for large trailer trucks and two stations for smaller vehicles. The center also includes a fitter`s shop and a storage area. A separate part of the building contains the offices and break rooms.

Service center to include new container-cleaning facility

The plan is to build a facility, 3,500 m² in size, for cleaning containers. The facility, though located nearby, will be physically separate from the workshop. It will contain a through-track for cleaning tank cars and two cleaning stations for cleaning road-tanker containers. The new facility is perfectly connected to the existing road and rail network to prevent any delays in cleaning. Being close to the workshop area, it efficiently combines vehicle or container cleaning with repairs and inspection. The area between the workshop and the cleaning facility can store empty containers. Some 50 people are working at the commercial-vehicle center.
